It is hard to grow spiritually or contribute meaningfully to community without an income.
Yad Yisroel’s Vocational Trade Program gives young people the practical skills to build a future
with their own hands.

THE CHALLENGE
Many of the young people at Yad Yisroel come from homes with no financial security. Some have never seen a parent hold a steady job. As they approach adulthood, they face a difficult reality: they lack the skills, the role models, and the knowledge to break the cycle they were born into.
The Vocational Trade Program was created to change that.

WHAT THE PROGRAM OFFERS
Real Skills. Real Futures.
The program offers hands‐on training in sought‐after, respectable trades — showing young people that their
future can be shaped with their own two hands.

For young men
Training in construction and interior design — bricklaying, plastering, painting, and carpentry. Those with a talent for technical work explore electrical wiring, fire safety systems, and internet infrastructure — skills that are in demand
on any worksite.

For young women
Personal care — hairstyling, skincare, manicures, and pedicures. These skills can be a source of income, a foundation for starting a small practice, and a source of genuine pride. These lessons teach confidence and responsibility through creativity.
One Certificate at a Time
For students who do not continue on to university, these skills are a real and meaningful path forward. They offer structure, security, and — perhaps most importantly — a sense of control over one’s own life.
Every certificate earned brings our students one step closer to independence. We could not be more proud of them.
